– Meet, Michael, the President of the Lightship Overfalls
– You can discover the Maritime History of Lewes at Lightship Overfalls!
– The Lightship Overfalls served as a navigation to ships at sea right outside the Delaware Bay.
-Lightships have all the features of a Lighthouse (light, fog horn, radio beacon, etc.)
-They served as an aid to navigaiton to guide mariners to safe harbor
– In addition to touring the ship you can also visit the American Lightship Museum that tells the story of the lightship.
– The Overfalls Foundation established the Delaware Maritime Hall of Fame which can also be seen next to the ship. This honors those who have dedicated their skill and energy to build the Delaware’s Marietime Heritage
