During the COVID-19 pandemic, I began experimenting with polymer clay as a therapeutic creative outlet. I have always noticed beauty in the colors, textures, and objects found in nature, and that inspiration led me to make earrings reflecting my tagline, “Wearable Art with a Meaningful Message.”

Like heirloom jewelry that connects us to a memory or a person, I wanted each pair to connect its wearer to a deeper spiritual truth.

Then the idea came to create the name for my jewelry line — Pairables. One reason is that they are a pair of earrings, but secondly, I used a little play on words because each unique pair is associated with a Scripture, Parable, or word picture found in the Bible.

I love how Jesus taught by using everyday objects such as pearls, flowers, fish, trees, wine, and many other familiar things to teach us deeper principles in life.

Pretty soon my friends started purchasing my earrings, and before I knew it, they were being sold in several boutiques! What started as creative play became a small side business that brought me such joy.

I am new to coastal Delaware and hope to find the same opportunities here in Sussex County.
