Welcome to Sussex County Beach Living!

Delaware Beach

My name is Kelly, and I created this website to celebrate the beauty, culture, history, and lifestyle that make the Delaware Beaches such a wonderful place to live, visit, and explore.

After retiring and moving to the Delaware Beaches with my husband, Dave, I quickly fell in love with everything Sussex County has to offer. From the peaceful beaches and scenic waterways to the vibrant arts community and countless local events, I realized there was so much happening throughout the year that many people never hear about. Sussex County Beach Living was created to bring all of these wonderful experiences together in one place.

Whether you are a year-round resident, a seasonal visitor, considering relocating to coastal Delaware, or simply planning a beach vacation, my goal is to help you discover all that makes Sussex County such a special destination.

Discover Local Events & Activities

Rehoboth Beach

Every month, Sussex County Beach Living highlights the best events and activities happening throughout the area. You'll find information on outdoor concerts, community festivals, farmers markets, art shows, theater performances, holiday celebrations, outdoor movies, charity events, family activities, and much more.

We also feature recreational opportunities including boating, fishing, kayaking, paddleboarding, hiking, biking, golfing, wildlife viewing, beach activities, and educational programs offered through Delaware's outstanding state parks.

From a summer concert under the stars in Lewes or Rehoboth Beach to a guided nature walk at Cape Henlopen State Park, there is always something exciting happening at the Delaware Beaches.

Explore Our Beach Town Communities

Broadkill Beach

One of the things that makes Sussex County unique is that each town has its own personality and charm. Throughout this website, you'll find detailed guides featuring the history, attractions, restaurants, shopping, outdoor recreation, schools, healthcare resources, parks, and lifestyle opportunities available in each community.

Lewes Historical Society

Explore the historic streets of Lewes, relax on the award-winning beaches of Rehoboth Beach and Bethany Beach, enjoy the lively waterfront atmosphere of Dewey Beach, experience the quiet beauty of Fenwick Island, or discover the small-town charm and artistic spirit of Milton.

We also celebrate the natural beauty of Broadkill Beach, Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge, Delaware Bay, and the many rivers, marshes, and state parks that make this region one of the most scenic coastal destinations on the East Coast.

Supporting Local Artists

Local Artist

As an artist myself, I have a special appreciation for the incredible creative talent found throughout Sussex County. The Delaware Beaches have long inspired painters, photographers, sculptors, jewelry makers, woodworkers, potters, and artisans of every kind.

Each month, Sussex County Beach Living proudly features a local artist, providing an opportunity for visitors to learn about their creative journey, view their work, and discover the inspiration behind their art.

Whether you are an established artist, an emerging artist, a photographer, furniture designer, craftsperson, or creator of unique handmade works, we invite you to share your story and become part of our growing artistic community.

For those who love art, we hope you'll enjoy discovering talented local artists and finding beautiful works inspired by the beaches, bays, marshes, and coastal landscapes that surround us.
