The Lewes Historical Society offers the community a variety and wealth of year-long programs including exhibitions, a Museum Speaker Series, workshops, children’s activities, and the popular Tavern Talks.

The Society’s History in Bloom Tour will take place on Saturday, April 2, and Saturday April 9. Each tour will be led by a historic guide and will provide information on Lewes’ rich maritime history from its founding by the Dutch in 1631 to our present-day Lewes community, demonstrating that “the First Town in the First State” has much to offer.
Tavern Talks: Journey back to historic Lewistown and raise a pint in Sussex Tavern at the Rabbits Ferry House on the Historical Society’s main campus. Through these immersive programs, guests will join historic interpreters during specific eras in Lewes’ past and lend their voices to the unfolding events. May 27th-29th
2022 Mid-Atlantic Sea Glass and Coastal Arts Festival: The festival will feature over 50 sea glass and coastal artists specializing in various mediums such as sea glass, wood, photography, painting, ceramics, metal, and sculpture. June 4th and 5th
Summer Craft Fair :The Lewes Summer Craft Fair is well known for the exceptional quality of the craftspeople, including new and returning artists from across Delmarva and the Eastern Shore. July 16th
Coastal Collectibles and Antique Show: Immerse yourself in antique treasures, and hard-to-find collectibles from all periods. August 20th
